Hey! Before I begin, this post marks the 100th entry I've written for my own blogspot! Happy 100th Post to myself.

Ok, where were I? I have to admit that it's been quite a while (it's freaking long) since I've written on my blog and since I've even visited my own blog. But hey, it's excuse-able coz I was way too busy. So where have I been?! Let's list them..

1. Schatz and I moved into our own place in April. Friendly neighbours, nice neighbourhood, what else can we ask for.

2. We bought a new car (also in April) - fantastic drive but the fuel efficiency got worse

3. Tiffy (meow) joined our family in May (only to find out in August that she's a boy - whatever..)

4. Went on a holiday to Guangzhou to attend a wedding (June) - Fun and laughter with the family!

5. Business trip to Seoul in end July - ended up with loads of luggage filled with cosmetic & apparels!!

6. Within the same week (1st week of Aug), my team trip to HCM City - Mekong river, coffee, Pho Bo

7. Romeo (our 2nd British Shorthair) joined the family in Aug - He's still a HE

Now - preparing for the big day (customary wedding on 27th Nov). Diet starts and fitness plan on the schedule! After the big day, we will unwind ourselves for a romantic honeymoon to NYC & Hawaii! - I'm so looking forward to the holiday. It's like a reward after the hard work aka. wedding!

No gimmicks, no tricks. Yet it was a sweet and heart-warming one."honey, I really want to marry you and have children with you" the statement itself made me cry and he reached for his bag. For a moment, I thought he was pulling out a piece of tissue but it was a white box. In it, a diamond ring with my favourite setting (5 claws) blinged at me. Looking at it, I cried even harder. It was tears of joy. Thank you my love. I will love you for the rest of my life.

Every weekend is about feasting. Let alone my long weekend. Teochew Porridge at Suntec, English Breakfast Tea at Dome, Italian at Casa Roma, Roast Chicken at Charly T. Amidst the food tasting galore, I started the book 'Women in Business' by HBR. Learnt views on why women take "off-ramps" during their career. Interesting.

Had a hair "renovation" at bugis Village where I got my clip-on hair extensions. Miss my long hair.
Oh! Check out my latest craze for small tote bags :)
Also, holidays confirmed. 15 - 17 Oct = Macau, 28 - 31 Oct = Taipei, 17 Dec - 4 Jan = Europe.

Schatz came back from HK and bought me some magazines! All for vanity's sake! Hahaha...
Fashion magazines that come with free bags, beautiful ones I must say. But most importantly, he was back on friday and therefore he could spend the weekend with me. Besides the goodies, we indulged ourselves with good meals. Brunch at Chalk, Teochew porridge at Lorong Ah Soo, Japanese Western food at Shokudo and coffee breaks with plenty of magazines to browse. We also caught two movies, The Expendables and Grown Ups. Other than the relaxing moments, we braced ourselves to join the crowd at Comex where he bought THE laptop. Happy Schatz now :)

Many reasons why I love weekends. Mainly, I have the luxury of time to laze away during the afternoon with a cup of nicely brewed coffee and quality time with my love. My favourite haunt for such lazy activity is PS cafe. After which, it was dinner time and made our way to Baden Restarant & Bar. We had schnitzel to calm our craves for German food. But, no beer.

Last weekend, we went away to Batam for a "mini" holiday. Reason? To commemorate our 1st anniversary. The trip was occupied with massage, food, shopping, bowling, swimming and loads of 'us' time together.

Pre-National Day Celebration

My National Day Celebration "FEEL" came earlier! It kicked start on sunday morning when I met my girls for brunch at eM! It's totally worth it to inaugurate the day with a hearty meal I must say. Oodles of Pancakes, American Breakfast, Beef Burgers and Fish & Chips set the stage. They were coupled with zesty tea, juices and concoctions of coffee! With a feast like that, weather seemed perfect with a twist of sun!
After the gluttonous meal, I adjunct to the next destination...The Istana!!! Kites embellish the clear blue sky, crayons coloured the mood of children and laughters set the appropriate atmosphere for the nation's birthday. People gathered for the love of being Singaporeans. I was there to witness it all.

Following the walk, we rested our feet at 1 Caramel. Famous for its cakes and tea, I chose the unconventional ~ soup! Instead of sweet-toothing, I preferred the savory...

Dinner was easy. I insisted on Japanese food despite knowing his disdain for it. We went to Waruku at ECP for a sumptuous dinner and I had what I wanted, Gyu Yanagawa Wazen. Satisfied, if you ask me? Not quite. The lust for brunch emerged during the night and we made a spontaneous decision to go for brunch on National Day's morning. Choice of place ~ Mimolette.

Chandeliers, white table cloths, wooden windows, clear glasses, western breakfast sealed the crave for my very own National Day's Celebration :)

6 months??!!

Wow! It's been SIX months since I last blogged!!!!!

What have I been up to? Work, work and nothing but WORK! Been very VERY busy for the last four months or so since I joined my current company but life's been great so far. Glad I made the choice then! However, I will not be complacent and assume that it's good enough.. I want to achieve more!

Of course, no matter how busy I am, I'll take my time off from work and rejuvenate!

this feb's been an eventful month for most of us! of course, needless to say, it's been fanciful for me and him ;) he was supposed to fly off to sydney for work but he made arrangements so that he could spend cny and v-day with me ;) Oooorrrhhh...sweet!

not only this period's been eventful, it is also very special for him and i......oh well, because it's our first time spending cny together plus his first time celebrating cny plus it's our first cny cum valentine's day. so many firsts!

cny started with roaring good food on new year's eve! my family, together with my bf and my bro's gf, went down to amk for a sumptuous meal~~mmmhhhh~~~ the butter crabs were deliciously yummy!

other than the food part...the beauty of cny is also about being able to meet up with family and friends. see! my picture with my pretty niece ;)

of course, like most singaporeans, my relatives asked questions about blah blah blah......aiya, when it comes, i will inform you! bleah ;p

the goodness? W, S & F got proposed in dec or jan! you gals are gonna be busy preparing for your big days! congrats congrats! one of them, W, is my childhood friend since....... (fingers and toes counting...not enough ^o^ ) 21 years ago!!! looking at her wedding blog ensures me that she is blissful now and i am happy for her.

Looking at Changi Airport's arrival website and his flight is confirmed! The estimated time was 23.50 but it's gonna reach earlier than expected! This is a good thing for me....because I will get to see him earlier than expected!

It's only 10 days since he flew to Sydney for work but it felt longer. I'm waiting for 11pm and I'll make my way to the airport....lovvvvvve the feeling of waiting for him at the gate ;) These days, I'm visiting the airport quite frequently....Oh! By the way, he got me a pressie! haha...wonder what! Aiya..it doesn't matter as long as I get to see him! (blush)

I have been deeply, madly in love with him since 4 1/2 months back (oh my, time flies) and we're together for 4 months now. It feels like I've known him for the longest time ever but honestly, it's at the most 6 months! He's very different from me, ranging from the skin colour, culture, accent, taste for food etc etc.......but I just LOVE the differences! It makes us want to know each other even more!!! And he still make my heart hit an extra note every time despite the fact that I sees him quite often ;)

Feeling sleepy but can't get to bed...the kind of contradiction arises when I turn in late:(

Right now, I really feel like talking to someone...but since everyone's asleep while I'm the only one awake, I'll make do with my blog;)

Serve me right for not being able to sleep!!! The usual me sleeps at 10pm every day!!!! Now??? It's 1.40am and I'm still struggling to shut my eyes:( wahaha...Been staying out late often these days...and these events have mixed up my routine!

Been rather busy at work which resulted in lesser time for blogging : p

Nevertheless, here are the highlights for my first week of July...

5th July : Make a night trip to JB for a chillout session and sumptuous supper! Our destination was this wanton mee stall that opens after midnight called Ah Biao Wanton Mee...as we reached JB at around 11 plus, we popped by Station 1 Cafe for some drinks and good music:)

Yesterday, I was honoured to attend the official opening of 'Baba Bling - The Peranakans and Their Jewellery'. The guests-of-Honour were Mr. & Mrs. Lim Swee Say...the event was majestic with a touch of magic :) The opening started with a tune of pantun...

Firstly, I need to clarify that I'm not a Peranakan....but I really think that the culture and traditions are beautiful in its own ways. I came to like Peranakan history and all after I visited the then 'ACM' which is the current Peranakan Museum, in 2002. Back then, the museum displayed a spread of Nyonya Jewellery. Precious stones, diamonds, pearls, gold, silver, copper and suasa were not spared to make these beauties in the 19th and 20th centuries.

During the mid 19th to Early 20th century, Peranakans saw a boom in their wealth when tin and other raw materials were in demand. Most of them were entrepreneurs and landowners. In the past, Nyonyas need not work but stayed at home to take care of domestic affairs. They were showered with jewellery by the Babas. As they loved intricate designs, the Nyonyas commissioned raw materials and invited jewellers to their home to make the accessories as they were afraid that the jewellers would swap them with inferior substance. Nyonyas guarded the jewellery well against theft and tarnish so that in times of crisis, they may sell them off for staples. In the midst of WWII, many of these pieces were sold, melted, destroyed or stolen; resulting to its unprecedented artistry.

Too bad! I couldn't take any photos of the exhibits...but I managed to take some photos of myself and my friend, Nelson, when I was there :)

WoW...my final blog entry for 2008!

This year has been intoxicating for an ordinary ME (0_0)...

WHY?

2008 started as an epilogue for the credit-crunch crisis (aka CCC). In Jan' 08, the phenomenon only started brewing. Many were unaware of its ruthless undertakings. As my job correlates to this industry stated, I have no volition but to capitulate it. Besides the macro environment, I learnt that there are going to be changes in my office for 2009.

Work aside. In 2008, holidays seem rather scarce. I went to Bintan in Mar' 08 with my colleagues for a team bonding expedition. One memorable experience was the thumb master game which I learnt. Trust me, it was fun.

Midget predicaments here and there but I managed them well. Of course, there were fortuitous events like I completed my studies and restarted my blog. All these happened within 2008!

Let us embrace the new year with an open heart. Start a new chapter, a new you.

On friday, I had a fun-filled evening!!!

Met up with Lavon in the evening...and went over to her place to play with her maltese, Happy!!!

Theoretically, people should pass through stages of life in a chronological manner.

1. Birth 生

2. Age 老

3. Ill 病

4. Death 死

Every person breathing on this earth was given life at birth, something that we didn't choose at outset. However, some people along the way, were deprived even the chance of aging. For some, they gave it up voluntarily. For others, it was fate that ended the journey. Of course, it would not be realistic if everyone experience the chronicles of life.

Still, it's saddening to hear that my friend and my friend's friend passed on at their prime age. They were about to embark on a new phase of life when everything came to an abrupt end. Their deaths are rather sudden...from stage 1 to directly stage 4.

Living is like experimenting a mission. A mission to come to this world to share our love, knowledge and memories. This is a mission which I am still experimenting as I type this blog. Parting is a painful experience...but it can be less intricate if we think along the line that we will reunite in memory.

Like I always say, "Live life like there's no tomorrow". Don't live to regret things that you did not do or did yesterday.

Remember! You only get to live once.

At least, I'm comforted that I have my family, love and friends with me.

Street racing is really cool...especially with the fact that there are cars racing legally on our roads. Thumbs up for this brilliant idea! I just watched it on TV and finds that the race showcases the night view of Singapore amidst our business district area stunningly.

I love musicals including musical movies! Mamma Mia is no exception.

What I love most, is the site where they filmed the movie. But does it really exist?

Yes and No. The hotel, Villa Donna, is a set built specially for this movie and it was removed after filming. In the movie, Villa Donna was located on the cliffs above Glysteri Beach which really exists.

Although, we can't find the exact place, there are other "Villa Donna" around in Greece.

I was still in school when the Asian crisis hit Asia in 1997. True enough, I've not been through enough financial crisis to say that this is the worst.

One thing for sure...this time round, it's garrulous.

Many used to say that the some companies are too big to fail. Now, say again. It should be NO company is too big to fail.

Is it contagion risk or systemic risk? Whatever the risk is, it has transformed eminent banks to legends.

This issue will take time to rehabilitate and some say it's not the worst yet.

Tots refer to toddlers. If you are thinking along the line, you would remember our National Day's Rally where PM Lee strongly encourages Singaporeans to participate in 'nation building'. Birth rate is on a decline mode because many Singaporeans are focusing on all aspects of their lives except creating a nuclear family. This is a conjoint problem for most developed countries, namely, Hong Kong, Japan etc. In fact, each couple needs to have 2.1 child in order to replace our current population.

This is a disconcerted issue for the government and us as our population ages. Government may encourage foreign imports to relieve the problem but another enigma emerges, losing the 'true blue' Singaporeans.

Anyway, what's so bad about having children? Apart from monetary issues, they are a bundle of joy for everyone. My friends who are parents often told me that they seek comfort from their children. It is a kind of blessing that need not be told nor shared.

Today, I was at the Comex IT show in Suntec and I just have to say that the crowd is really no joke. Of course, I didn't go there with an agenda to buy anything.....but was home with a new gadget, a Olympus FE-230!

Although my ideal is a Sony T-70...but the offer for this camera is too good a deal that I make do with this. In fact, it has got my favourite color on it so no harm :) Anyway, I'll be snapping pictures with this babe...so stay tuned.

Work or life? These days, we call it work-life. It is because we spend a lot of time at work till some people, to a certain extent, forget about the basics of life.

Isn't it common to see people around us stay up late in the office? My friend once said...people who bury themselves in work may be escaping from the reality of going home. That's strange to me...because I love to chill out at home :) Things that happen at work affect our mood.

Some people are spoilt for choice while others are left with no choice. Will we really be happy even if we have plenty of choices? I doubt it. Choices lead to a decision and this can prove to be nerve-wreaking. In the end, a decision results in a consequence. All these are interlinked closely.

A more sophisticated saying is 'The power of free will rests in the power of choice.' Every human has the potential for free will but we rarely exhibit it. In our world, free will and responsibility are aligned together as greater power comes with greater responsibility.

Understanding choice is critical in life. The notion of choice occurs at many levels. Sometimes we have little or no control over thoughts that randomly come into our mind but we can choose to be happy or sad.

I was at a poly-mate's wedding yesterday. Met up with poly-mates who 'vanished' since 5 years back. It was more like a 'reunion' dinner than a wedding dinner...oh well...it happens often especially when I'm at this age...what the heck! But it was cool to see them...we were talking about poly life...wahaha...those were the days :)

Well, everyone's doing different things now despite we studied the same course...some married...one with kid (Yes! Sharlene...I'm talking about you) Totally drama!!! Take care of baby Jasper k...Jasper's sick!

Even though Siew Yen, Sharlene and I do meet up at times...we still have lots of jokes to crack...haha...I mean between Siew Yen and I...Sharlene loves to crack chill cold jokes : p Not to worry, Sharlene...I still love your company : ) My poly-mates were complaining about how much they used to hate doing projects with me coz they felt stressful...hehe...I was demanding but that was then...I'm fine now. hee ; )

Old skool jokes are fun but wedding dinners give me a kind of chill along my spine. It's like...I know that I'm not ready to settle down but yet feels envious of marriages...oh no...contrary, again!!! It's so me to procrastinate!!!

Last night, I was feeling all lethargic after a day of blading...but becoz I promise my dear friends that I will turn up at MOS, I appeared. We were hoping that there will be free entry using HSBC card...to our dismay... no free entry for guest DJ night!!! However, I was glad we went into MOS even though we pay $23!!! You know why? The guest DJ was marvelous!!! For the first time, I enjoyed shuffle hardcore music!!! All thanks to YOJI-SAN!!!

Yo folks...my recent activities involves a sport which I had forgotten for some time-Blading.

I bought my very own blades yesterday at Skateline@ECP...its K2 Athena!!! Colour combination = Grey + Pink...I even bought matching guards!!! and because of my monetary investment...I'll be investing my time into blading tomorrow at ECP again!!!

Glad I have my fellow comrades who are also very INTO blading!!! Cheers to our blading outing tomorrow!!! Yeah :)

Studies have shown that 'attractive' people often do better in society. Attractive children are more popular in class. Attractive applicants have better probability in getting jobs. Even in court, attractive people are found guilty less often. Hey...that's life! but....we are unaware that this group of people are under a lot of pressure to maintain their appearance. That's for sure.

Therefore, good looking people may not FEEL good. Feeling good is being confident about oneself physically, emotionally and spiritually. Sounds easy? Not quite. Ok...example... A guy walks out of his house with a Hugo Boss suit, Armani tie, Prada shoes and a Hermes briefcase...(envision) Looks Good? Probably.

Wait!!! That's not the end of my story...before walking out of the house, he had a tiff with his wife. He feels lousy...(envision) how does he FEEL now? Lousy!!! At the end of the day, when he returns home...what will he really prefer? Talking to his wife or his Hugo Boss suit?

Kungfu Panda is a hilarious cartoon. I laughed till I almost cried. One good cartoon that everyone was yearning for more after the movie.

Its about Po, a clumsy Panda, who dreams about becoming a kungfu warrior while his dad, a goose, wants him to sell noodles. Fate came when he was surprisingly chosen as the Dragon Warrior where Po had to learn kungfu from scratch in order to attain the dragon scroll. However, after seeing the scroll, a blank one, Po came to realise that there is no secret recipe in life. It is all about believing oneself.

Despite this is a cartoon, there are lessons to be learnt.

~One has to believe in one's potential.

~One can become a hero in crisis.

~One cannot give up.

~One cannot be blinded by greed.

~One's greatest weaknesses can be his/her greatest strengths.

This is what I call my dad.

My dad has many fortes. It ranges from fixing up household stuffs to sending us to and fro places without grievances. His knowledge is incredible too. Not only that, he's good at remembering people and things. My dad is superb!!!

Not only is he talented, his dedication to my family is wholesome. Since young, we don't have to bother about day-to-day matters. It is well provided for. My mum gets her share of love and concern from my dad too. Not that I want to boost about it but its true. I hope I can find a husband who's as dedicated as my dad. He's a true role model.

Bishonen 美少年の恋 is a 1998 movie from Hong Kong about an ill-fated gay romance.

Prior to watching this movie, I find gay relationships distasteful. However, I feel otherwise now.

In the movie, it projects that gays are equally affectionate about their relationships. They are willing to sacrifice for their love, a love that is socially unacceptable. gays are more willing to express their feelings and relay it to the person they like. btw...daniel wu and stephen fung acted very well in the movie especially scenes where they were kissing passionately!!! oh...daniel wu's my idol...in case you don't know...hahaha

I feel that gays love men but they can also feel passionate towards women. I've seen gayish guys in club flirting with girls!!! so....ladies, don't think that these people are not dangerous...they are!!! sincerely...i salute them!!! They are willing to give up many things for ONE thing, LOVE. basically,gay and lesbian couples seek the same kind of mutually supportive, romantic, and emotionally intimate bonds as straight couples. They also struggle with the same issues of finances, intimacy, and extended family as straight couples. generally, they define relationship satisfaction in largely the same way as well.

So so so...I feel that our society should accept their presences. embrace lives.

When we are in love, we wish to be out of it.

Contradicting. Do we prefer to love, or be loved?

Ideally, we want someone who loves you and who thinks you are awesome. On the other side, its always flattering to have an admirer. Why be somebody's ego boost?Selectively, we dwell on happy moments but will also remember moments of neglection, unappreciation or betrayal.

No perfect answer, no perfect person. No point in idealizing a person as its fatiquing.So...I really ponder...is it better to be out of love? however.....being out of love can be melancholy.haha : )

Love is many things, but apparently it is not for the faint of heart.In medical terms, falling in love is as much a physical reaction as it is an emotional one. The symptoms of being in love are the same as responses of our nervous system.Therefore, the mind and body are affected when love is unrequited or sours. To be frank, I'm never a SATC fan...and to be even honest, this is the 1st time I ever watch this classic. haha.... : ) but but but....despite, not watching the serials, I find this movie symbolic to all ladies. I think it can apply to men as well.

This movie gives me complex feelings..ranging from being envious or jealous ;p of Carrie to being sympathetic. My feelings suffered a lot throughout two and a half hours!!! But I still gives it a thumb up!

Many of us (ladies) have been through relationship(s)...met different types of men.....in search for the MAN! Conclusion...pathetic ~__~

I guess many men are like Mr. Big. They want L.O.V.E. to be simple...too simple!!! Great Singapore Sale = Great Shopping Stress

Why stress?

ok...simple...sale should be a fortuitous event for all. Men, women, young or old treat it like a form of remedy aka Retail Therapy. But when people starts queuing in front of boutiques, its a form of stress actually. The boutiques which I'm referring to are top-notch designer labels.

The whole accentuation started when my friends and I knew that Pr@d@ was having their sale on friday and the boutique would open at 10 am. and of course...being label lovers, we rushed down to Paragon at 10 am!!! To our amazement, the queue was overwhelming!!!

hee...I confess. I queued as well. Oops ><

After a long wait, I finally laid my feet on the marble flooring of Pr@d@. It was CHAOTIC!!! Bags were lying everywhere!!! My friend and I walked to the 'bargain' shelves. Guess what? Black bags were literally wiped out. Left were the odd colours...orange, pink, maroon and green.

I saw a few ladies with bagsssssss clinging over their bodies. You must be wondering if they bought all....YES, THEY DID!!! One word to describe them<captivating>in a wrong way, of course.

Well well well...honestly, the discounts range from 30% to 45%. Its freaking worth it!!! I would recommend you to go down and have a look if you are a fan of this Italian fashion house.

BUT some advices from my past experience.

1) Do not buy seasonal colours (unless you super love it)

2) Walk around different boutiques to make a sound decision

3) They normally keep stock and release the stock slowly as the sale last for a month so no need to buy on impulse

If you are not bothered about queuing and over-crowding, to the extent of enjoying... its truly a S.A.L.E.

Tired of being surrounded by urbanised structures?

Visit henderson waves!!!

I just got to know of this beautiful place at the western part of Singapore, the Henderson Waves...I went on saturday night and I find the view spectacular : )

You may start your walk from Mount Faber. The waves stretches 36 metres across Henderson Road, in fact its OVER the road. On the other end, its a welcoming 1.3 km forest walk where there are elevated walkways connecting to Alexandra Arch. You will find a floral walk and the Hortparks after Alexandra Arch. There is also a canopy walk that leads to the Kent Ridges park.

Its a magnificent venue to chill out...but heed my advice...be at the right place with the right person...haha : )

Today's topic is about...$money$

Is money really that important? There is no definite answer to this question. Everyone will give a different view. When we hear people saying "I don't care about money", do you believe it? I don't.

In times when we want to render care and concern, money comes into the picture. During the Szechuan tragedy, many of us wanted to help but there was simply no way to enter Szechuan. So, what was the best alternative? Donations. Ok, even if you managed to fly there to help in the rescue effort...you still need money to buy air ticket etc.

What I'm upset about is that money is being value by the colours, sizes, words on a piece of paper! You see the irony of life? So, what's the true value?

To me, true value is the significance of what money can do to improve lives rather than the value stated on the paper. Chasing money can be tiring. While we work for money, we spend money. While we spend money, we want more money.

The logic is... that when we have money, life was never better and when we don't have it, we can't cope with life.
